Steve Bradshaw, MD of Rowton IT and i-UG Technical Director will reprise his popular presentation. In this presentation we share some quick and simple tricks and tips to check your server is healthy and working at its optimum level. This presentation gives you a practical list of tasks that you will be able to use with all your IBM i Servers to keep them running at their best. We will cover a wide range of topics some technical, some practical, all of which are Free of Charge.

The business value of combining modernisation of IBMi applications with the implementation of a DevOps process for your RPG Development. 

Presented by: Nick Blamey – ARCAD Director of Northern European Operations. During this presentation you will learn (using practical examples) how the most advanced RPG development teams implement DevOps for IBMi. The session will focus on how teams can use “value stream mapping” to focus efforts on elimination of Real bottlenecks in any development process using modern development tools and optimised Testing and Deployment / Release Management solutions, and most importantly explain the “business value” and Return on Investment they achieved.

POWER Evolution – What’s good, What’s not, What’s coming? 

Presented by: David Spurway – IBM. No stranger to the i-UG community, David will cover off just what support is available (or not…) on POWER5, POWER6, POWER7 in both hardware and O/S software terms. David will also outline some surprisingly low-cost ways of moving forward and indicate just what might be coming along. As a minimum, it is important that we all know how this evolution is moving and where it is right now.

AI and Machine Learning for mortals.

Ross Cruickshank of IBM will give us an insight to how we could utilise the power of AI in our companie. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning is becoming very popular, but who knows how to implement them? We are fortunate to have the renowned expert and international speaker Ross Cruickshank with us to present an introduction to some of the open source tools available to deliver just some of the AI available right now.
